The Czech Republic has an estimated population of about 10, 220 911 people whilst the population growth rate is insignificantly decreasing with about 9 births, 11 deaths and 1 migration per mil.  The birth rate is rather low at 1.23 child per woman compared to the USA with 2.10 children and the United Kingdom with 1.66.

The vast majority of the country’s inhabitants are Czechs making up more than 90% of the country's total population. The ethnic minorities include Slovaks, Poles, Roma and some Germans. Approximately 300 000 Roma (3%) live in the Czech Republic according to estimations.

The median age of the population is about 40, which is approximately the same age structure as in the United Kingdom.
