Josef Skupa’s puppet family made up of Spejbl, Hurvinek, Manicka, Mrs Katerina and Zeryk the dog have been delighting audiences since the 1930’s.
This is good old fashioned family entertainment; fun and laughs for everyone. Although most performances are in Czech – or on occasion German – the stories are easy for all to follow whatever language you speak. Most centre on the relationship between Spejbl and Hurvinek who are father and son and, as is reflected in most families, have very different perspectives on life.
Most of the children’s performances have an educational message hidden within the context. So if you’re a big kid at heart than take the family to see this famous family of Prague, or if you fancy a night out without the children, they also stage shows for adults.
