Like in any other country if you are victim of a crime or in another peril situation, call the police.
In order to reach the Prague City Police dial 156, Police dial 158.
A completely different kind of police is the so-called Foreign Police responsible for all questions of foreign residency and the like. Interestingly, they do not seem to speak English at their office – even though their clients are international, their service is not. Hence, if you do not speak a word of Czech it is highly advisable to bring a Czech speaker with you. And as the queues can get unpleasantly long at times it helps to have taken the day, morning or afternoon off and to have all relevant documents with you – you would not want to go twice.
